"I, Timothy E. Desmond III, born January 11, 1885, do hereby testify as follows: The two brick houses shown in the photo were owned by my grandfather Timothy E. Desmond I. This house, 449 Columbia St., was built about 1880 by William Cody, contractor and builder, who about 8 to 10 years later built 447 Columbia St.

  1. 449 - Basement and Parlor floor was occupied by my grandfather Tim Desmond and his wife Margaret (McCarty) Desmond and oldest son Daniel and daughters Mary and Nara.
  2. 449 - Uncle Matthew Desmond and wife Anna (Shields) Desmond and three sons.
  3. 449 - My father Timothy E. Desmond II and wife Margaret (Sweeney) Desmond and four girls and five boys.
  4. 447 - First floor - carriage house, content - 4 or 5 carriages used for business.
  5. 447 - Uncle Frank and wife Kate (Highland) Desmond and 1 girl and 2 sons.
  6. 447 - Uncle Den and wife Mary Jane (Mullen) Desmond and 2 boys and 1 girl.

The pony shown in photo was given to me by my grandfather and this pony was alive until I was 22 years old."
